The historically favored 2025 Lobster Mini Season just came to an end. The two day event took place on Wednesday and Thursday (July 30th & 31st), and is considered a holiday by most visitors and locals alike. For many it is the last hoorah before summer ends and school starts and is looked forward to year after year. This weekend is off to a fantastic start in the beautiful Florida Keys as the Atlantic Red Snapper season has officially begun. July 11th & 12th, today and tomorrow, is finally time you can catch and keep your desired Red Snappers! Keepers must be 16 inches minimum and limit two per angler.  One of our favorite local charter captains is off to a great start this season. As the first half of 2025 comes to a close, the real estate market in the Florida Keys is shifting across the board. Throughout the keys, listing prices have decreased, some significantly more than others. The Upper Keys is showing an average of 28% decreased listing prices, 8% for the Middle Keys, and Key West with 33%.  Although the listing prices have declined, the market has remained active with an average of properties closing between 68-95 days. Another beautiful week has come and gone in the Florida Keys as we approach the start of Mother's day weekend. The 19th annual Mother's Day Dolphin Tournament hosted by Leichty Marine of Marathon is set to kick off tomorrow, May 10th. This fish for a cause event is a fundraiser to aid Habitat Middle Keys build more affordable housing in Marathon.
