The Keys are known for a lot of different things from piracy to succeeding from the United States. However, both locals and tourists will believe the number one thing we are known for is our Key Lime Pie. People travel from all over the world to sample the award winning dessert. People spend their time down here traveling from restaurant to restaurant sampling their Key Lime Pie and trying to decipher who has the best. Its 5 o’clock somewhere and where should you go for the best happy hour in Marathon? When some get together to enjoy some time off for drinks and food we always look for a place that has excellent atmosphere, drinks, food, and entertainment. We always seem to head back to the same place, Spark’s Landing. Located in a convenient place in Marathon right on the water, this place has it all. Sparky’s is located behind the Fairfield Inn and Suites right off of Oversees Highway.

There are lots of celebrations going on this weekend thru Monday to celebrate St. Patrick's Day throughout the Keys. Plenty of live music, great food and great people.
The 25th Annual Upper Keys Irish Festival will be March 15th and will begin at 11am with the parade starting shortly after at noon. The festivities will be held at the Caribbean Club in Key Largo. This is a fundraiser for the Teen Intervention Prevention Services of the Florida Keys.

Mother's Day Weekend

Another beautiful week has come and gone in the Florida Keys as we approach the start of Mother's day weekend. The 19th annual Mother's Day Dolphin Tournament hosted by Leichty Marine of Marathon is set to kick off tomorrow, May 10th. This fish for a cause event is a fundraiser to aid Habitat Middle Keys build more affordable housing in Marathon. A fun day of fishing while raising funds to keep affordable housing attainable in the middle keys- does it get any better than that?
