Golfing in the Florida Keys

The Keys are better suited to fishing, diving, boating and drinking margaritas but the hardcore golfer will find an outlet if he or she looks hard enough.  While their are not many courses in the Florida Keys, you will be able to find something for everyone (even the youngsters).  The list below gives you all the information you will need when golfing in the Florida Keys.

  • Ocean Reef – Key Largo – Ocean Reef is a private, membership only course.  Information and cost on becoming a member can be found on their website at  Ocean Reef offers two different golf courses.  The first is the Dolphin and it is the Member’s favorite.  This course has wider fairways and a forgiving rough.  The second course is the Hammock Course.  This course has 18 holes that were built into the wildlife sanctuary.
  • Florida Keys Country Club – Marathon – The Florida Keys Country Club is a 6500 yard, Mark Mahanna designed golf course that offers a challenge to golfers of all levels.  Many golfers of all levels enjoy the tough, yet forgiving course consisting of striking palm tree lined fairways, lush manicured greens and breathtaking views.

    • Police/Military Rate – $40 (18) and $30 (9)
  • Key Colony Beach Golf Course – Key Colony Beach – This golf course is a small par 3, 9 hole, course that the entire family will enjoy.  Club and Pull cart rentals are available for an additional charge.

  • Key West Golf Club – Key West – The Golf Club is located at the entrance to the Island of Key West.  The unique 18 hole course encompasses over 200 acres of beautiful Florida Keys foliage and wildlife.  Key West Golf Club golfing legend, Rees Jones, masterfully designed the course to be a challenge to player of all abilities.

  • Boondocks – Ramrod Key – This is the only mini golf course in the Florida Keys!  18 perfectly manicured holes of mini golf complete with waterfalls, fountains and a cave.  Don’t forget the full bar for the more experienced golfers.
