A New Sheriff is in Key Colony Beach

On June 30th 2011 the city of Key Colony Beach will have a new police chief.  Chief Robert Pertrick will be retiring and officer Kris DiGiovanni will be taking over the proverbial "Hot Seat".  Chief Petrick: Thank you for a job well done!!!!!

Kris has been with the city of Key Colony Beach as an officer for the past 6 years.  He is 36 years old and has a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts.  What many people do not know is Kris graduated Magna Cum Laude and is presently pursuing a Masters degree in criminal justice.

I first met Kris almost six years ago when he approached me for my support of a project he decided to spearhead.  His vision was to create a fishing derby for the young people in our community.  I thought the idea was great and Key Colony Beach Realty has financially supported this worthwhile event every year ever since.  You see, I grew up in the Keys, specifically Key Colony Beach when the side streets in our city were just gravel.  Back then there was so little to do that many got in trouble really just out of boredom.  His vision moved me when I reflected back on my youth.

Well Kris........I am sure with you at the helm our city will be just as safe as it is now.  Best to you and know you have my support.
