Key West, Florida is the southernmost point in the United States, so you would assume it's always warm, right? Well, this morning they tied a low temperature record set in 1879. Yes, 1879! The low dropped to 49* in the wee hours of the morning. Now if you're in Minneapolis, Minnesota right now your temperature is 40* and you probably think it's a heat wave based on your normal winter temps.
But here in the Keys we're not used to this, in other words: it's cold in the Keys! However, the temperature has already gone up to 61* and it's beautiful and sunny without a cloud in the sky. Tourists are walking around in shorts and t-shirts while us "locals" have long pants and sweaters on! It's all relative! But, I'm holding on to my coffee cup for warmth!
The Keys are a beautiful place to live or vacation.... "come back to the Keys" you'll be glad you did.
"Cool" regards from the Keys, Judy Cinque (if you read my blogs, you'll know I usually say "warm regards.")
