Zip Lines Coming To Marathon, Florida Keys?

Have you ever been to Crane Point Hammock in Marathon, Florida Keys? The directors of the hammock are working on obtaining federal funding in the amount of $750K  to build an Eco Canopy Tour, or zip line expected to cost upward of $1.1M. Wow, will that be cool or what? Riders will enjoy an aerial view of the natural beauty of the hammocks that has been a popular tourist and locals destination for years.

Crane Point Aerial MapEstablished in the early 1900's by George Adderly when he built a modest home on the site after moving here from the Bahamas. Today, this 64 acre tropical, natural hammock boast trails and flora and fauna which are native to the Florida Keys. Including, but not limited to, more than 160 species of plants. Also enjoying the hammocks are crowned pigeons, raccoons, ibis birds, herons, dragonflies, butterflies and iguanas.

Also on site is the Museum of Natural History which is filled with exhibits and dioramas to teach adults and children about the history of the Florida Keys, life cycle of sea turtles, shipwreck treasures and  Native American artifacts.

This non-profit, locally run group hopes to build the zip line in the hidden treasure of Crane Point Hammock.  The zip line will bring a "bird's eye view" to us "humans" as we glide over the natural beauty that is the Florida Keys!

Stay tuned, and get ready to fly like an eagle!
