The rest of this adage is quite interesting so lets start from the beginning. “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass… it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” In these challenging times we all must learn to be much more flexible. It seems like everybody is angry at the bankers. Just the other day someone said bankers are happy to give you an umbrella when the sun is shining, but take it away when it starts to pour. At present we are in the middle of closing a transaction and the amount of angst that we are having over getting this real estate transaction closed is off the charts. No wonder most bankers have a big red bulls eye painted on the back of their shirts.
We need to learn to dance in the rain and perhaps without an umbrella. It seems as though opportunities are abounding in many markets and in many countries. Flexibility and nimbleness will be critical to navigate the waters over the next couple of years. However, great opportunity will reveal itself to those who are looking for the sun to peak through the clouds. I guess this blog today is a word of encouragement for all of us to not see the glass half empty but to see it half full.
Best to you and yours, Paul
