Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

White sand, blue skies, warm water  I moved to the Florida Keys 40 years ago and I have to say in all that time I've not seen so much effort put into beautifying the Middle Keys.  In the past couple years,  the City of Marathon has completely renovated Sombrero Beach, Coco Plum Beach and  installed bike paths throughout the City.  The City of Key Colony Beach has also installed underground electric on the main corridor and created multiple municipal parks including  Sunset Park which is directly on the ocean.  It is very encouraging that the City fathers are investing in the future of our community.

Historically the US 1 corridor has been an eye sore.  However, DOT has begun planting palm trees in the medians and as we type new asphalt is being laid on our four lane highway.  The bottom line is that when this much  effort is being expended to upgrade our infrastructure, our community is going in the right direction and this  will ultimately benefit everyone.

Best to you and yours, Paul
